Meditation band?

My phone is always showing me cool stuff in my feed, and the other day it went for the a head band for meditation.  I don’t understand the details of how it works, but the basic idea is that it captures your electrical brain activity to distinguish wether you are in a calm or agitated state of mind. Through a phone app or similar the band then gives you feedback in the form of relaxing nature sounds that have higher intensity the more agitated your state of mind.

Some people have already tried it and left reviews on what they thought. To me the coolest thing is that the inventors were originally trying to develop a band to help people move objects, and found that it was too challenging a task. But, in the process they learnt a lot about how to get feedback from the brain and how that might be used to help us meditate.

I’m pretty curious about it of course, but at the same time I don’t think it would go well with the kind of meditation I like to practice (Vipassana and anapana) where I feel the sounds would just keep distracting me.

Have any of you tried it? if so, what do you think? Thanks for your feedback!
